You might find groups where members just sharing their blog posts and some groups where real conversation going on. Some of my favorites facebook groups are:

Now if you have already created a group focus on the content and the value it can provide to make to help your group members.

But the BIG question is how do you get more users to join your Facebook Group?

Don’t worry I got your back!

In this post, I’ll share 3 techniques to promote your facebook group without spending a dime.

1. Ask Your Blog Subscribers

Here’s what Ankit Singla from BloggingTipsTricks asked his blog subscribers after launching his new group to public.

promote facebook group

Within just 3-4 days it went to up to 600+ group members.

Your email subscribers already know you, know about your blog and may have interacted with you through comments – so they are more likely to join your group on Facebook.

Also, share your facebook group link on your facebook profile and other social media networks and ask your friends/family to join in.

From one billion facebook groups you will surely find some groups related to yours. You can also pitch the group admin for a little bit of promotion in exchange for some work you can do for the group.

Now Here are Some Don’ts:

  1. Don’t  just invite anyone and everyone. You don’t want people who are not interested in what you are sharing or discussing…right?
  2. Don’t add people without their permission. It’s shouldn’t be your decision  – it should be their decision to join or not.

2. Use As Email Signature

This one’s pretty easy! Email signatures is a great place for adding a call to action and it works magically.

As an example here’s what I might use to promote my facebook group.

add facebook group to email signature

Now I assume, the person you are emailing already know you or talked to you. Now chances are if the are interested in the same niche as your group, they might join in.

You can also use this trick in your guest post author bio. Try this with mainly high authority blogs and make sure you write an epic sh#t. This surely attracts like-minded people and helps you get more facebook group members.

3. Use As Popups/SlideIns

This is best used by Kulwant Nagi from Blogging Cage to promote his facebook group.

This is one of the non-annoying methods to ask your visitors to perform some action such as joining your facebook or getting likes to your facebook page. The slide usually pops up from the bottom corner when someone scrolls down X% of a page.

If you are using WordPress, you can use a plugin called Easy Slide-In for WordPress to create these slide in. It’s a nice eye-catching trick to invite your blog visitors who haven’t subscribed to your list and works perfectly.

3 Free Ways To Shyrocket Your Facebook Engagement

We all love to Facebook likes…don’t we?

In the last article, I’ve discussed how to get more Facebook likes.

But until there is no engagement..it’s just a number.

From past couple of years Facebook organic reach is declining and now dropped down to 2%. It surely has affected Facebook engagement massively.

But that’s not the end of it…there are ways you can increase Facebook engagement without spending a dime.

So, whether you are working for a company providing digital marketing agency or a blogger working for your Facebook page, these tactics will help you get more engagement.

So let’s dive in.

#1. Timing is the Key

Even though organic reach is reduced down to 2% but that doesn’t mean it’s dead. The reason Facebook changed how the content will be displayed in News Feeds is because of the growing number of content being published.

Now the trick to overcome this challenge is to post when your Facebook fans are online.

best time to post on Facebook

Even though people check their Facebook throughout the day but a study suggests that most engagements happen at the afternoon.

But you shouldn’t necessarily follow what timing worked for other industries. You should check your Facebook Insights to know the perfect time to post for your page.

Try posting in different times and figure out which one works the best.

#2. Post Great Videos

Videos are one of the most effective ways to engage with your audience. No, I’m not talking about linking to your YouTube videos. A study suggests that natively uploaded videos on Facebook received 52x more views than on Youtube.

Facebook native vs Youtube

Now here is the deal:

To create a perfect Facebook post you need to have the perfect recipe i.e. 90% visual and 10% text.

With videos you can be more creative, informative and interactive – basically, you can do some really cool things with it. Before you start creating a video, do check out the best practices and Facebook recommendations  to know how to convert them, video quality, and some other troubleshooting issues.

Make sure your video isn’t long enough, as a study suggests between 22 seconds to 30 seconds. And don’t forget to add a catchy title.

Videos are not just engaging but your fans are more likely to remember it compared to a plain text post. And Facebook’s new video autoplay feature has changed video engagement to get user’s attention.

Finally, Facebook has made videos one of the most engaging and viable marketing options for businesses. So you better start taking advantage of this feature.

#3. Reply To Your Fans

You work hard and spend on Facebook ads to get people engage with your posts…right?

But when someone finally takes the time to leave a comment on your post, don’t ignore it. Check your posts throughout the day so that when someone comments,  you can reply ASAP. If you take long to reply, chances are the conversation won’t take place.

As an example, you can see how Darren Rowse knows connects with fans and touch them. He does this by responding to their comments promptly.

reply to Facebook fans

Yup, you might get some occasional trolls….just to get attention. But most people leave a comment to your post because the can relate to it. Make them feel special so they will be more willing to come back in the future and interact with your future posts as well.

As humans, we can touch each other either physically or emotionally. But if you try to approach Facebook marketing with just money making mindset then, you might end up wasting your time. Remember, Facebook is a social network, where you interact with real people socially, not a business network.

Facebook Likes…nowadays we are kinda obsessed with it.

Even you work for a digital marketing company working for its clients or work on your own site / blog…we all love to see the number go up.

The bigger the better…RIGHT?

But how to keep the numbers growing without spending a dime?

There are a couple of ways to do that but in this post, I will focus on top 3 ways to get more likes on your Facebook page.

So let’s dive in…

#1. Embedded Post

Do you know Facebook lets you embed posts on any web page?

Yes, that’s true!

Now you can grab a piece of code from your Facebook post and embed it into your post.

That’s INCREDIBLE!!

Let me show you how you can do that.

Step 1: Find a post that you want to embed. You can use your latest post from your Facebook Timeline.

But what I like to go through you Facebook insights tab & find the post engaging post. Once you find that select it by clicking on it.

Step 2: Now to get the embed code just click on the drop-down arrow on the upper right-hand corner of the post and select “Embed Post”. (If you don’t see this option click on “More Options”)

Embed Facebook Post

Step 3: Now copy and paste the code into your website or blog. That’s it!

This trick is awesome because it won’t be affected by Facebook’s news feed algorithm…and more importantly, it completely FREE. It will also help you to increase Facebook engagement.

#2. Guest Blogging

We have all heard about guest posting and some of you might have already used it.

Guest posting is not only can help you build authority & links, it can also help you to get more Facebook likes.

Just make sure you link from your author bio to your Facebook page. That’s the key!

If you guest post in a highly authoritative blog and you write some good sh#t, then it might bring you quite a good amount of likes.

#3. Exit Intent Popup

Exit Intent Popups are the best way to engage visitors leaving your website.

Let’s say a user is browsing through your website / blog but suddenly decides to leave without liking your Facebook page. Exactly that moment they will be interrupted by a message asking them to like your Facebook page.

There are many tools you can use to create this popup. One of my favorites is Hello Bar. Neil Patel also uses this technique in his blog Quicksprout. And if you are visiting this blog for the first time, you might something like this when you try to exit.

Now let me show you how to do this:

Step 1. Sign up with Hello Bar, install the code they provide you to your website. If you are in WordPress they have a plugin.

Step 2. Click on “Create New” from the left sidebar. It will take you to a new page to select a goal.

Step 3. Select the goal called “Get Facebook Likes” and enter you Facebook Page URL. From the drop-down menu select, “Current Page Visitor is Viewing” and hit continue.

Use Hellobar to get more Facebook like

Step 5: Now turn off the option called “Like the URL my visitor is on” and enter you Facebook Page URL in the box below.
